Can I Add eCards to My Raiser's Edge NXT Giving Process?
Yes. While Raiser's Edge doesn’t support embedded <script> tags in donation forms, you can still offer donors a seamless eCard option. The main approaches are:
Linking to eCards from NXT confirmation screens or emails
Embedding eCardWidget on your own website with Stripe Checkout
Using a hybrid approach where donors give in NXT and then complete a free eCard form
Option 1: Add an eCard Link to the Confirmation Page
In eCardWidget, open the Widget Editor → Share tab, and copy your Public Link (e.g.
https://app.ecardwidget.com/w/wtrx8dpjx7q).In Raiser's Edge NXT, edit the confirmation message that appears after a donation.
Add text such as:
“Want to send a thank-you or tribute eCard to someone special? [Click here to send a card].”Save and test with a sample donation.
Option 2: Add an eCard Link to the Confirmation Email
In Raiser's Edge NXT, edit your donation confirmation email.
Add a sentence like:
“Celebrate your gift with a personalized eCard: [Send a card].”Save and test the email to confirm the link displays correctly.
Option 3: Embed the eCard Form + Donation Checkout on Your Website
For the most seamless branded experience, you can create a dedicated eCard donation landing page on your own website.
Create a page (e.g.
/send-a-tribute-card).Copy your eCardWidget Embed Code from the Share tab.
Paste it into your page.
Connect your Stripe account in the eCardWidget dashboard.
With this setup:
Donors pick a gift amount, complete payment via Stripe, and immediately send an eCard.
Receipts, eCard engagement tracking, and CRM integrations are handled automatically.
Ideal for tribute giving, in-honor-of donations, or seasonal campaigns.
Using eCardWidget’s Built-In Stripe Checkout with Raiser's Edge NXT
If you use the eCardWidget form with Stripe Checkout enabled, you can process the gift and send the eCard in one flow. You then have two ways to move donation data into NXT:
CSV Export/Import
Download donor and gift records from eCardWidget.
Import them into Raiser's Edge NXT using Blackbaud’s import tools.
Manual but straightforward.
Microsoft Power Automate Sync
Use Stripe webhooks as triggers in Power Automate.
Map donor + transaction data into NXT via the official connector.
Keeps NXT automatically updated with each donation.
Cost: about $15 per user/month for the required license.
