🔒 Overview

If you want to offer exclusive eCards only to members or subscribers, you can embed your eCard forms (Widgets) on members-only pages using your website builder’s access control tools.

This setup is ideal for websites that want to:

  • Create a members-only eCard library

  • Offer seasonal or themed cards to paying subscribers

  • Organize cards by category, with access based on membership

You can create a separate page for each card category—Christmas, Birthdays, Thank You Cards, etc.—and embed a different Widget on each one.

💡 Real Example: Rotary eCards

Rotary eCards is a live example of this setup in action. Visitors can:

  • Browse card categories (like Easter, Thank You, Birthday)

  • Subscribe to unlock full access

  • Send unlimited cards for a fixed fee (with all proceeds going to charity)

Their site uses membership-based access to restrict eCard forms until the user has subscribed—exactly what you can replicate using eCardWidget and your website’s tools.

✅ Platform-Specific Instructions

🟦 WordPress (Best Option: MemberPress)

Use the MemberPress plugin to restrict access to pages that contain embedded eCard forms:

  1. Install and activate MemberPress

  2. Create a Membership Level (e.g., “Premium eCard Access”)

  3. Create a Page for each eCard category (e.g., "Holiday Cards")

  4. Set the page’s visibility to that membership level

  5. Paste your eCardWidget embed code into the page

🟥 Squarespace (Built-in Member Areas)

  1. Create a Member Area and assign pricing/access levels

  2. Add new Pages inside that Member Area for each eCard category

  3. Paste the eCardWidget embed code into a Code Block on each page

Only signed-in members will be able to view and send cards.

🟩 Wix (Use Paid Plans + Site Members)

  1. Add Members Area app from the Wix App Market

  2. Create subscription plans and assign page access

  3. Use Site Members to control logins

  4. Add your eCard pages, restrict them to the correct plan, and embed the Widget code using the Embed element

🌐 Other Website Builders

Most platforms support one or more of the following:

  • Membership tools

  • Paywalls or gated content

  • Password-protected pages

General flow:

  1. Create a gated page for each card category (e.g., “Birthday Cards” or “Thank You Cards”)

  2. Use the platform’s access control to restrict it to subscribers

  3. Embed your eCardWidget form on each page

Other Website Platform Guides:
Weebly, Webflow, Kajabi, Podia, Thinkific, Teachable, Ghost, GoDaddy, Duda, Webnode, and there are many more not listed here.

💡 Pro Tip: Organize eCards by Occasion

You can create a separate eCardWidget form for each card type or theme, such as:

  • 🎄 Christmas Cards

  • 🎂 Birthday Cards

  • 🙏 Thank You Cards

  • 🎉 Anniversary Cards

  • 💌 General Greeting Cards

Then embed each one on its own page and restrict access however you'd like (by subscription level, membership plan, or login-only).

🧠 Summary

  • Use membership tools or page restrictions to control who can view and use your eCard forms

  • Create a unique page and Widget for each card category

  • Supported on platforms like WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, and others
