Why am I being asked to create a Stripe account when I already have one?

When you connect Stripe to eCardWidget, Stripe creates a sub-account under your existing Stripe account. This is part of how Stripe Connect works and ensures that transactions related to your eCardWidget campaigns remain separate from your main account.

Do I actually need to create a new Stripe account?

No, you’re not creating a completely new account. Instead, Stripe is setting up a sub-account linked to your existing Stripe account. This allows for better tracking, security, and integration while keeping your eCardWidget funds organized.

How can I access my eCardWidget sub-account in Stripe?

You can find your sub-account in Stripe’s dashboard by clicking on your profile icon in the top left menu, where you’ll see a list of accounts, including the one linked to eCardWidget. See example image below:

How does this affect my nonprofit discount on my main Stripe account?

If your main Stripe account has a nonprofit discount, it typically does not automatically apply to the sub-account created for eCardWidget. You may need to contact Stripe support to request that the nonprofit discount be extended to your sub-account, as this is managed separately by Stripe.
