Using Video Thumbnails as the Image

Unfortunately, you can't embed a video into an email - however, you can use a video thumbnail with a play button icon in the center as the image in your ecard. When the recipient receives the card, they can click on the image to open the video and watch it on your website.

Step-by-step instructions for using video thumbnails

Here are the steps to follow for using video thumbnails in your ecard:

We hope this helps you understand how to add a video to your ecard! If you have any questions, you can reach out to our customer support team.

Step 1: Design Your eCard Cover Image

Create an eCard cover image that includes a play icon overlay. This visually indicates to recipients that they can click through to view a video. You can use your preferred graphic design software to create this image or use the eCard Widget's design tool.

Step 2: Upload the eCard Cover Image

Navigate to the eCard Editor in your eCard Widget admin dashboard. Upload the cover image you designed in Step 1 as the eCard cover image.

Step 3: Obtain the Video URL

Copy the URL of the video you wish to link to from your video hosting platform (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo, or your video landing page).

Step 4: Add the Clickable Image Video Link

In the eCard Editor, locate the "Clickable Image Video Link" field. Paste the video URL you copied in Step 3 into this field. This will ensure that recipients are directed to the video when they click on the eCard image.

Step 5: Include a Video Link in the Email Body

As a best practice, also include the video link within the body text of the eCard email. This provides recipients with an additional way to access the video, improving user experience and increasing the likelihood of engagement.

Step 6: Save and Preview Your eCard

Save your changes in the eCard Editor and preview your eCard to ensure that the clickable video link is functioning correctly.

Step 7: Assign the eCard to a Widget

Complete the process by assigning your eCard with the video thumbnail cover image to the desired widget within your eCard Widget admin dashboard.

By following these steps, you can create engaging eCards that provide recipients with an interactive video experience, driving higher engagement and interaction with your content.
