At eCardWidget, we understand the importance of data security. We discuss our procedures for collecting, storing, and securing email addresses collected on our platform below.

Email Collection and Storage

Email addresses collected on our platform are utilized solely for the transmission of ecards via email, unless you opt to track them. By default, email addresses are temporarily stored in our database until the successful transmission of the ecards. While the majority of emails are sent instantaneously, senders may opt to schedule their email transmissions for future dates, in which case we retain the email addresses until the scheduled date, after which the email addresses are removed from our database. Our platform allows senders to schedule email transmissions up to 60 days in advance.

Please note that we do not track email addresses, except when sender/recipient email tracking is activated by the user. In such instances, the email addresses may be stored and exported by the user for a maximum period of 90 days. However, it is pertinent to reiterate that email tracking is deactivated by default.

Third-Party Email Logs

Our email service providers, Sendgrid and Postmark, maintain email logs for delivery purposes only. It is noteworthy that Postmark expunges email addresses from their logs after 45 days of email transmission, while Sendgrid deletes them after 30 days. Please refer to the privacy policies of Sendgrid and Postmark, provided in the links below, for further information:

Data Protection

For the protection of the email addresses and names stored on our platform, we abide by industry-standard security protocols and utilize Digital Ocean for our infrastructure hosting. Digital Ocean partners with third-party data centers that maintain stringent access control measures, video surveillance, security, access lists, and exit procedures. Digital Ocean conducts regular data center audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and proper implementation of their security requirements. You can read more here:

User Control

We acknowledge that the decision to store email addresses on our servers is at the discretion of the user. Accordingly, we provide the option to enable or disable this feature at any time.
